Own the Room · For High School Students · June 10, 2026
Networking is a skill. Learn it before you need it.
One day at the Ohio State Faculty Club. Real conversations, real feedback, real business owners. Leave knowing how to walk into a room and own it.
● One Day. Real Skills.
What you'll actually learn to do.
Introduce yourself like you mean it.
Most introductions are a mumbled name and a job title. You'll build one that tells people who you are, what you're about, and why the conversation is worth having - then practice it the same afternoon on real business owners.
Hold a conversation with anyone in the room.
How to open. How to ask questions that go somewhere. How to exit gracefully. You'll practice with peers, instructors, and Columbus business owners who know the difference between a real conversation and a nervous one.
Carry yourself at a business meal.
The Business Etiquette Lunch at the OSU Faculty Club isn't a simulation. You'll navigate a real multi-course meal with real professionals — handling the details most people only learn by getting them wrong in front of someone important.
"You don't learn to walk into a room by reading about it."
Meet the Instructors Leading the Experience
The people teaching this are entrepreneurs and educators who built their careers on the skills you will practice on June 10.
Networking skills aren't just taught. They're practiced. That's why the day is built around real conversations, direct feedback, and reflection — not just lectures. You leave having actually practiced these skills, not just hearing about them.
